Unlike most of other Ultras, Ultraman Leo and his brother Astra came from Nebula L77 which was destroyed by Alien Magma. Leo’s fighting style specializes in martial arts giving him far greater physical abilities than any of the other Ultra Brothers. He, along with Astra, obtained the title and became a member of the Ultra Brothers. Ultra Seven entrusted his son – Ultraman Zero to him and Astra having them served as his teachers(quote Ultraman Wiki).
I bought this Leo half year ago and until now I still consider this figure as the top 5 Ultra-Act. Now let’s start our review and find what features it has~
(1) Outer box and Instruction Page
Typical Version 2.0-style box. The box is as thick as Ultra-Act Zero’s.
(2) Inner Box
Still two levels of inner box. The first level holds the figure Ultraman Leo and small accessories. The second level contains big effect parts.
(3) All items
Many main props are added to this figure! And there is a clear plastic paper inserted between chest and waist to prevent the wear of the painting on the waist. To remove this plastic paper, you should first pull the chest out and then remove this paper. After that, plugging the chest back in the ball joint.
Contains: Ultraman Leo figure, optional hand parts, Red Timer, Leo Nunchaku(fixed), Leo Nunchaku(flexible), Windmill, Leobrella, Leo Kick Effect, Energy Light Ball Effect, Leo Punch Effect and golden Armband.
(4) Four views of the figure
The figure is well painted. Compared to the old version, the renewal is much stronger and the remodeled muscles make it more well-proportional.
I am really satisfied with his head carving which I think is the most realistic head among all Ultra-Acts I collect. The face and eyes are really sharp. When I first saw the armor and insignia on his waist, I was stuck by their fine painting.
Also, the red is the color of plastic and no extra painting on his red body, so there is no need to worry about scratching.
(5) Head Articulation
Here comes a common problem: If you play the head too much, it is easy to drop down. The reason is because of the head joint like I circled in the left picture. The head dropped down three times during photograph. So please take care when you move his head.

Even through the body is stronger, it does not influence his mobility. Both wrists have bracelets. And no need to worry about his joints, they are tight so he can stand on his own in many different poses.
(8) Accessory One – Red Timer
It is easier to change the Timer if you pick the armor off. Although the armor can be picked off, it does not mean you have another different armor like Ultra-Act Zero.
(9) Accessory Two – Armband
First, removing the hand. Second, slipping the armband on. Third, plugging the hand.
(10) Accessory Three – Leo Kick Effect
The Effect is transparent red which makes it more like real fire. It is convenient to use this Kick Effect. Just snapping it on the bottom of the foot.
(11) Accessory Four – Leo Punch Effect
Like Leo Kick Effect, Leo Punch Effect is also transparent red. But you can not just snap it on the hand. The first step is removing the hand, then plugging the Effect in the hand ball joint. It makes the arm a little bit weird because without hand, the arm looks kind of stumpy.
(12) Accessory Five – Energy Light Ball Effect
Still transparent red. But unlike Leo Punch Effect, this Effect comes with an alternative hand. Because of the long size and heavy weight, it is hard to hold this Effect for a long time. Sometimes you need a stand to achieve some poses.
(13) Accessory Six – Windmill
The Windmill is really delicate and can rotate.
(14) Accessory Seven – Nunchaku
Two kinds of Nunchakus: fixed and flexible.
In TV show 11 episode, in order to fighting with Alien Kettle, Ultraman Leo made this Nunchaku using factory chimneys. So funny!
(15) Accessory Eight – Leobrella
This umbrella is transformed from Ultra King’s mantle.
Summary:
Compared to Version 1, the quality of renewal is greatly improved. The remodeled strong muscles, great body proportion and excellent painting, all make it worth every cent.
